Our Mission

md2docx was created to solve a common friction point in modern workflows: the gap between developer-friendly drafting and business-ready delivery.

While Markdown is the gold standard for technical writing, documentation, and AI-assisted drafting, the corporate world still runs on Microsoft Word. We believe you shouldn't have to sacrifice your preferred writing environment just to produce a professional report.

Privacy by Design

Most online converters store your documents or use them for "analytics." We don't. md2docx is built on a zero-retention architecture:

• In-Memory Processing: Your Markdown is converted in memory and never written to permanent storage.
• Instant Deletion: Any temporary files created during conversion are deleted the moment the download starts.
• No Accounts: We don't track you, we don't require logins, and we don't build profiles on your data.

• markdown-it: A highly extensible Markdown parser.
• docx: A powerful library for generating Office Open XML files.
• Mermaid.js & Playwright: For rendering complex diagrams into your documents.

Open & Transparent

We believe in transparency. Our tool is ad-supported so that it can remain free for everyone, from students to independent researchers. We are constantly improving our rendering engine to support more Markdown features and better Word templates.
